JO FORELL
"Most of us live our lives wondering why we can't stay happy for more than a few days at a time.

"Every day the stress of life affects us more and more. Sometimes we don't even realize why we react the
way we do to the stresses encountered in our lives. As humans we have a tendency to feel that nothing we
do is good enough; or we over' analyze everything we do and say.

"We get locked into a pattern of feeling attacked, and at these times our nervous system shifts into a 'fight,
flight or freeze' response. We feel we must attack, flee or shut down completely in order to deal with the
situations at hand. Our nervous system is on overload and even the tiniest little thing can put us over the
edge."

Jo's intent is to help clients understand why an ordinary day can feel like such a crisis, and to learn more
about natural healing and not be so dependent on medication.

Jo says that, as a result of years of her own life process and healing journey, STCOA has been born.
STCOA stands for "Stop the Cycle of Abuse."

Through meetings and therapy, she hopes to help people understand why they behave or react the way
they do, and teach them how to negotiate with their nervous system.

Scientific proof exists that we hold seven generations of psychological emotion within our DNA, she says.
How our parents and grandparents dealt with life affects how we think, feel, believe and react to live
situations.

"Through my private practice of trauma therapy," Forell says, "I work with a person's core issues. During
the STCOA meetings, which are in a group setting, participants are able to share and learn from one
another in a safe, guided atmosphere. We promotes healthy living discover that we truly are not alone in
these issues. We find that our behaviors and reactions are learned and normal, and can therefore be
retrained and redirected in a positive manner.

"The emotional work and trauma therapy are so compatible because through the focusing skills, Somato
Emotional Release therapy (SER), and Craniosacral Biodynamics Therapy (CSBT), we can unlock the core
traumas from the very DNA that holds iL We can do this in a completely safe, non-threatening manner. As
a result, the pain in our body is released and our emotional and spiritual well being is restored."

Healing Hands is expanding to include an Certified Massage Therapist, Ruth Griffith, who will be in the
office Mondays and Thursdays, 6:00 -9:00 pm, and Fridays, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.

Jo will continue to focus, as a trauma therapist, more on chronic pain and emotional and addictive
behaviors. Her hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.

The ultimate goal of all this growth is the future development of the STCOA Ranch on the family's 40
acres. Jo's desire for the ranch is to offer massage, acupuncture, chiropractic and other services, centered
in one location, that are geared towards improving all aspects of physical, emotional and spiritual promotes
